Marie Parke is a native of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, who attended Art College in the 60’s. On retirement she decided to renew her own creative outlet.
She began experimenting with watercolours and oil painting but discovered that printmaking provided the most satisfactory stimulus for her work.
This medium allowed her a degree of abstraction and freedom of artistic expression in form, colour and texture.
Her rural background instilled a love of landscape which became the main source of her imagery. Collography and monoprinting provided her with the means to portray the fleeting moods and seasonal changes of her childhood memories.
